Apparently yes, according to this Science Daily article. Single unrelated males were getting married in France 600 years ago.

I haven't read the article referenced in the linked story (because the September 2007 issue of JMH isn't out yet), though I will when it arrives. But until I've seen the evidence, I'm wary of calling affrèrement gay marriage (or even, as the ScienceDaily piece does, gay civil union). It could be nothing more than a way for two people with otherwise dismal prospects to maintain a holding.
On the other hand, it does lend a bit more weight to John Boswell's conclusions about adelphopoieisis in his last book. Will be an interesting read, that's for sure.
