One of the most poignant love songs written for Broadway.
"Soon, you'd leave me Off you would go In the mist of day Never, never to know - How I loved you. If I loved you.

Very poignant and sad indeed. Although I'm not a Broadway person, I do think that Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" is a very sad, poignant song as well and one to listen to when in the mood.

Sorry about the double post Scott - feel free to delete.
Now you've got me in the frame of mind to think about other songs of a similar nature:
"When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2
"And So It Goes" - Billy Joel
"You Must Love Me" from Evita
"In My Life" from For The Boys by Bette Midler (more so than the original by Lennon & McCartney)
