Madonna -- Who Knew?

The band is doing a medley of Madonna tunes (my response to a recent survey of members and the feedback we take ourselves too seriously and should do more "pop" stuff -- I may have gone a bit far). My assistant is conducting it (in response to my own personal, impish sense of humor that she seems to get) but I just looked at the sheet music. Did you know that Madonna actually co-wrote that crap herself?

Of course I've known and in defense of her music, you can call it crap all you want, but a funny thing is that you remember it even after all of these years.

When is the concert?

And that crap made her quite famous... who doesn't know the words to "Like A Virgin"

Well, not thrilled about 4 Minutes either but just for the record, she didn't have anything to do with Like A Virgin besides singing it - she did not write that, neither did she write Material Girl. Just a fact that remains.

I love 4 Minutes.

I know she didn't write Holiday either.

BUT, She did co-write Lucky Star, Angel, Into The Groove, Live To Tell, True Blue, La Isla Bonita, Like A Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Vogue, Rain, This Used To Be My Playground, Secret, Take A Bow, Frozen, Music, Don't Tell Me, Hung Up........not necessarily the best pop ever written for sure, but pretty memorable never-the-less.
