It's Christmas time, which can only mean it's time for the Sarah Brightman Challenge: What the fuck is she singing? Enunciate!

Does it matter??? She is over produced, over frocked, over micro-phoned... and what is up the batting of the eyes? And you thought Celine was bad... at least you can understand the Canadian SUPER Diva!

Feeling a little threatened there?

I am no fan of Sarah although I do own her Broadway Hits CD and like that one okay, but at least she didn't marry her father and wear a white dress backwards. :)

Okay. I love the Sarah Brightman Challenge. I guess I speak Sarah... I think the verse about the apple tree is new. I think I got most of the lyrics, but now I can't remember them to type them. She does a good Nessum Dorma, btw, and I don't understand a word of that! My favorite Sarah CD is "Fly" which I think was mainly released in Britain. It contains a cool duet with Tom Jones. But what other kind of duet could there be with Tom Jones!?!?!?

Okay. I'm back, armed with just enough knowledge of this song to be dangerous. The song "First of May" with music and lyrics by Barry, Maurice, and Robon Gibb, was recorded by the Bee Gees in August of 1968, released as a single in Feb 1969, and on their album "Odessa" in March 1969. The words are:

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall,
We used to love while otherse used to play.
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by,
Someone else moved in from far away.

Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small,
and you don't ask the time of day.
But you and I, our love will never die,
but guess who'll cry come first of May.

The apple tree that grew for you and me,
I watched the apples falling one by one.
And as I recall the moment of them all,
the day I kissed your cheek and you were gone.

Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small,
and you don't ask the time of day.
But you and I, our love will never die,
but guess who'll cry come first of May.

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall,
Do do do do do do do do do...(that's 90 'dos')
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by,
Someone else moved in from far away.

I just ordered Sarah's new CD, "Symphony" today on Amazon. I'll let you know how it is, as I'm sure you and all of your readers are dying to know!!!
