Dishonoring Service

No one should be surprised really that not one of the GOP candidates raised their hands last night to indicate they support the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell (although Ron Paul, I'm disappointed).

HRC is kicking off a campaign for its repeal next week in Iowa, led by LGBT veterans. In an HRC video Iraq veteran Antonio Agnone said of last night's GOP debate:

Because last night those candidates did more than just not raise their hand. They dishonored my service and the sacrifice of my brothers and sisters. And we'll never forget.

Pam links to the video.

My one comment to add is: why didn't Wolf Blitzer, when several of the candidates said that DADT was "working" follow up by asking, "working how?" But what measure can you declare DADT a success? It tells young Americans they must lie to serve their country. It forces capable men and women out of the military -- and in greater numbers since it was enacted.
