NASA Image of the Day

A nebula in the constellation Orion. The green cloud is comprised of molecules resulting from incompletely burned carbon. It's the same stuff that coats your charcoal grill after a cookout.

It's prettier in space.

The orange is illuminated dust particles.

The whole thing was caused by a supernova explosion three million years ago.

Space is pretty cool.
